Bakery & Kitchen Team Member

Matty’s Kitchen is an artisan bakery in Bushey Heath.

Bushey has a wonderful community and we are a big part of this. We aim to bring friends and families together through their love of good food and whilst providing excellent customer service.

We are currently looking for reliable, passionate & friendly team members to join us! We are a small start-up business and would like someone who has experience working with fresh food and ingredients. You should enjoy working as part of a small team and be able to stay calm and produce great food during busy service. The role is flexible with potential growth to manage the behind the scenes of Matty’s Kitchen.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Preparing our bakes including: Cakes, Cookies, Brownies, Wagon Wheels.
• Assisting in the kitchen to prepare breakfasts, lunches and sandwiches
• Clean As You Go - Keep all work areas clean at all times
• Washing up pots, pans + crockery throughout the shift
• Manage stock and keep all areas organised and in order
• Maintain high levels of Food Safety + knowledge of allergens
• Undertake any ad hoc duties as required by the Shift Leader, Supervisor or Manager

· The ability to be flexible over working hours, for example early starts and late finishes may be required at times for this role

Personal Specification:

· A passion for making great tasting food

· A good level of spoken English and you can understand and are happy to follow instructions

· Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant or Baker working in a fast-paced food environment

· Some previous experience and knowledge of bakery operations is desirable, but not essential

· Excellent attention to detail, calm under pressure and resilient

Job Types: Part Time/ Weekend Work (2-3 days per week), Full Time (4-5 days per week)
