Salary £25,948 p.a. increasing to £26,445 p.a.

Newnham College wishes to recruit a permanent, full time Porter to join the busy team working days in the Porters’ Lodge. Traditionally a focal point for information and assistance for students, Fellows, staff, and all other visitors including conference and B&B guests, the role of Porter is a high profile one, overseeing security and health and safety. This role would suit a calm, professional individual, with experience gained in a customer orientated environment, who is able to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide range of issues.

Working day shifts on a rota involving an average of 37.5 hours a week, the salary is paid at spine point 30 on the University Single salary spine, which currently equates to £25,948 pa, and increasing to £26,445 pa from August 2023. This post is pensionable under the College’s attractive contributory pension scheme, with an employer contribution rate of 21.6%, holiday entitlement is to 33 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), a free meal when on duty, free car parking and free use of the College’s gym facilities.
