An innovative technology company based in Cheadle are looking to strengthen their successful IT team by recruiting for an IT Support Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to a varied client base, remotely and in-person.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a 2nd line support position or have several years of 1st line experience, who is looking to step up in their career. Experience in a Managed Services environment would be beneficial however not essential.
Responsibilities include:
Provide support over the phone, remotely or on-site to customers.
Work within the helpdesk system to log, update and resolve tickets.
Provide support for existing IT systems, infrastructure and networks.
Support on existing and new IT projects - including making technical recommendations in the scoping of IT projects for clients.
Install and configure new hardware and software.
Set up new users' accounts and deal with password issues.
Continuous development of technical skills and certifications.
Skills / Experience should include:
Knowledge of Windows Servers 2008 - 2019
Office 365
Active Directory and Group Policy
General knowledge of Networking
Windows Operating Systems
Previous experience in a 1st/2nd line role
Experience in a customer-facing role and excellent communication skills
Benefits:
25 days holidays plus Bank Holidays
4% employer pension contribution
£750 salary increase per exam pass (i.e. Microsoft MS-100, MS-101). You will also have dedicated training time during work hours to ensure you have time to work on and complete any relevant exams!
Free parking
The role will be predominantly based on-site in the company's modern offices with working hours of Monday - Friday between 8:30am - 5:30pm.
