MidKent College is at the heart of the education sector in South East England, and a College which Ofsted recognised as Good for overall effectiveness, in a November 2018 inspection.

As a progressive student-centred College, we are now looking for a Learning mentor.

Details of the role

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the planning and delivery of organised workshops, to learners with additional needs. You will play a key role in the learners success, achievement and progress, and centre the workshops around their individual needs.

Subjects covered will include exam skills, social skills, study skills, life skills and employability skills. You will also work closely with the rest of the Additional Learning Support Team, planning the delivery of extra curricular activities for learners with EHCP's, to meet their specified outcomes.

There are multiple opportunites available. Including full time positions for 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Job Requirements

You will have knowledge of specific learning difficulties and specialist curriculum provision, including supported interniships, pre-entry provision and RARPA. You should also have experience of working with young people with SEND/ALS needs, ideally within and educational environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a Further Education setting, as well as holding a Level 3 Teaching Qualification, or have a willingness to work towards. You will have GCSE or equivalent passes in English & Maths, or able to demonstrate competency to this level.
