Fabricator/Welder

Welding Engineers has been in business since 1966 and is a major independent company specialising in the manufacture, installation, repair and maintenance of all types of Industrial Doors and Shutters, Steel Fabrication, Lift Gates and Shutters.

We have branches in Uddingston, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Hertford.

We are currently recruiting Time Served Fabricators to work predominantly in our Coleshill manufacturing branch but also may be required to work on a variety of private and public sector contracts we have in place throughout the Midlands.

Experience in general steel fabrication including barriers, handrails & would be an advantage.

You will also be expected to complete essential written documentation such as work sheets, service sheets, as well as follow Risk and Method Statements, attend site inductions, tool box talks and training courses relevant to your role.

Requirements include:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Ability to carry out work from verbal instructions, read fabrication drawings and follow detailed specification instructions along with a good mathematical ability
• Confidence in working with angles and measuring is essential
• Use of hand-held equipment used in welding and metal fabrication including welding plant, grinders, drills, oxy/acetylene cutting equipment will be required.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work on your own as well as part of a team.
• Must have the ability to work in a safe manner following health, safety, environment and quality guidelines and instructions.
• There is a mix of factory and site work involved and the role would suit a person with the ability to turn their hand to other tasks.
• Ability to communicate with customers at all levels
• Driving licence preferable
